On December 7th, the National Finals of the Teaching Stars Competition of the 2018 FLTRP officially kicked off in Beijing, and 26 finalists won the qualification to attend national finals. After intense competition, Zhang Qi, a teacher of College of Arts, won the first prize of the National Finals of the Teaching Star Competition. She was also given the opportunity to make academic exchanges abroad or in Hong Kong and Macao in July 2019.
At the final stage, Ms. Zhang Qi won the unanimous praise of expert judges and audience judges with clarified teaching design goal, advanced teaching idea, clear-cut logic and smooth and lively teaching style. She displayed a solid teaching foundation and sound teaching design ability, being able to integrate language knowledge teaching, and training in skills and thinking mode.
The “Teaching Star” contest of the FLTRP targets at foreign language teachers from colleges and universities across the country. Through preliminary competition, rematch and the national finals, it annually offers teachers the stage for exchanges in teaching mythology, with the purpose of leading teaching concepts, encouraging innovative method and improving the quality of teaching. Themed as “Task-based design: goal, process and evaluation”, the contest urges teachers to build “golden lessons” with in-depth and challenging skills and practice-focused teaching goals. It aims to encourage foreign language teachers to explore new ideas, new modes of wisdom teaching, thus enhancing their teaching capability.
